Steve Redmond: Sarasota Incognita

Join us for the opening reception of Sarasota Incognita, the work of painter Steve Redmond.

This retrospective begins with work from Redmond’s early painting years on a self-built studio houseboat. Traveling from Vermont through central Florida to the Gulf coast, Redmond lived, worked, and painted, on board and off, for three years. These and later paintings alternate between the outer and the inner journey, interposing explorations of the American landscape, the Tarot, Grail legend, and creation story. This show is a must-see for all those interested in a self-styled journalistic approach, one which uses archetypal mythology alongside abstraction in service of authentic expression.
