Celebrating its 25th year, the 2026 Brattleboro Literary Festival will take place October 16-17, 2026, in beautiful downtown Brattleboro. As always, the annual fall foliage weekend events are FREE and open to the public.Founded in 2002, the festival has grown into one of the region’s most significant annual gatherings, drawing more tourists, sponsors, and participants each year. Since its start, it has presented over 900 authors, including winners of the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award, the Women’s Prize, the Newbery Medal, and the Caldecott Medal, among others. The festival features a diverse group of authors in conversations, panels, and presentations. When reviewing submissions, we consider not only a book’s literary merit but where it might fit in with the other work in the festival lineup.
