DESCRIPTION:OPENING RECEPTION\, Friday April 7\, 5:30-8:30pm\nREGULAR GALLERY HOURS: Fridays (4:00-7:00 pm) and Saturdays and Sundays (12:00-4:00pm) throughout April. \nHealth Care and Rehabilitation Services (HCRS)\, southeastern Vermont’s non-profit\, community mental-health agency\, serving 4\,000 individuals challenged by mental health\, substance use\, and developmental disability issues each year\, will host a multidisciplinary art show at the 118 Elliot Street Gallery in Brattleboro\, Vermont\, during the month of April. \nThe artwork\, created by a vast array of talented artists\, both classically trained and outsiders\, all part of the HCRS community\, reflects the health and wellness benefits of the creative arts.\n			 \n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				PRESS RELEASE \nHCRS TO HOST ART SHOW AT 118 ELLIOT IN BRATTLEBORO \nSpringfield\, VT\, March 21\, 2023 – Health Care and Rehabilitation Services (HCRS)\, Southeastern Vermont’s community mental health agency\, announced today that they will be hosting a multidisciplinary art show at 118 Elliot in Brattleboro\, Vermont\, during the month of April. The artwork comes from a vast array of talented artists\, both classically trained and outsiders alike\, who are part of the HCRS community. The show is expected to represent more than 50 artists who are employed and/or served by the non-profit agency. \nAn opening reception will be held on Friday\, April 7\, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm\, featuring live music performed by Shishka Bob and Gary. Light refreshments will be served. \nHCRS welcomes the community to join them at the opening reception to celebrate creative expression through the arts. The community is also welcome to view the artwork during the following open hours at 118 Elliot: Fridays (April 14 & 21) 3:00-7:00 pm\, Saturdays (April 8\, 15\, & 22) 12:00-4:00 pm\, and Sundays (April 9\, 16\, & 23) 12:00-4:00 pm. \nThe annual show is coordinated by HCRS Case Manager\, Jonathan Mattoon\, who also offers art wellness for the people he supports. According to Jonathan\, “We’re excited to be hosting our 4th annual art show this year. Art can be a very powerful tool for self-discovery and growth\, and through meaning\, give people an opportunity for greater connection in the community. The opportunity for these artists to display their work is one more step in achieving wellness and sharing with the community.” \nHCRS’ CEO\, George Karabakakis\, Ph.D.\, states\, “Jonathan’s passion for the arts led him to organize this month-long art exhibition.
